Moving abroad, even with the support of a relocation company, is not always easy. And when you have to plan your move alone, it might be even more stressful. Social medias might be of some kind of help, but nothing like someone you really meet and is showing you for real what your life is going to be once you have established in your new country.

The project idea of Expat Buddy consists in offering people who plan to relocate experiences mixing services and counselling with culture and activities. 
On the website, you select your facilitator, your experience, you plan your day or trip and you prepare all the questions you might have.

What kind of experiences are we talking about ? Here are some packages examples:

"The full area tour with public transportation: Explore all the areas of Gothenburg including the city center, seaside and lakes area. Select best areas to live. View schools and transportation system. Chat about cost of life, health system and more."
"A day outdoors: Discover the islands of Gothenburg’s Archipel and experience Swedish traditions. Chat all day about lifestyle and how to fit in the Swedish society. Marie will answer all your questions!"

"Stroll the city, shop and cook: Discover the city's atmosphere, where to find your favourite food and clothing and prepare a traditional Swedish Lunch at Laura's house"

Of course your packages can also provide pure relocation services or other services expats might need.

But who are the Facilitators?

They are from all over the world, they are expats. They relocated a few years back and know everything about the challenges but also the joys of living here. They are social, passionate and helpful, adaptable to your needs and they speak a language you all speak in the family. For a fair price, they will give expats-to-be a peak on their future life with on top of that a fun activity to remember. Some buddies are specialists for specific subjects such as job search, translation, integration,...

The pilot is going to be in Sweden, as well as in a few other cities around the world.

We are now looking for the people with the following profile:

- have been an expat in Sweden for about one year or more

- being from France, India, USA, China, Japan, Turkey, Spain, Brasil, Poland, Russia, Australia (other countries also welcome) and speak different languages

- interest for meeting people, socializing, sport, activities, culture, food and travel- enthusiastic about Sweden and its way of living

- strong experience of the relocation process and ability to share it in a professional way with newcomers

- service oriented, good counsellor and familiar with social medias

- willing to invest 3 hours a week in a pilot project with potential revenue from July
